Laurence (Larry) E Rutt

Laurence Rutt, President, Project New Hope CanadaPresident: Laurence (Larry) E Rutt (Master Warrant Officer retired) was raised in Springhill Nova Scotia and joined the Canadian Army on 21 June 1964 at 1 Personnel Depot Halifax Nova Scotia at the age of 16 as a Private Apprentice in the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps. His Father was a World War II Canadian Army Veteran, and his paternal Grandfather was a World War I Army Veteran. He is an active Legion member and is a current member of Branch 52 Stonewall Manitoba.

During a 43 year Regular and Reserve Force career, he was posted to several locations in Canada: Camp Borden ON, Victoria BC, Portage La Prairie MB, Beausejour MB, RCAF Station Gimli MB, Armored Fighting Vehicle Range Meaford ON, Canadian Forces School of Administration and Logistics CFB Borden ON, 1 Canadian Air Division Winnipeg MB and 17 Air Reserve Flight 17 Wing Winnipeg MB.

Larry has also been trained and continuously involved in: Native Cultural Awareness and Applied Suicide Prevention Skills and has attended and successfully completed military training with the American Military.

Larry has been married for 45 years to the former Carol S Magolnitski of Teulon Manitoba. He has one daughter, Jennifer, who is a school teacher currently residing in North Hampton United Kingdom.

The reason why Larry chose to participate in Project New Hope Canada was mainly to assist those Veterans and their families that are suffering from Operational Stress Injuries. Mental illness has become a major medical concern within Canada and Larry hopes to learn more about it and help others dealing with mental issues. He was a founding member of Project New Hope Canada Inc in 2009.
